What are the cons for getting a face mole removed? I really need help!?

I have a mole on my face (kinda like Cindy Crawford - in that same area) and it is raised but I know its not skin cancer. But, nevertheless, I don't like it. Even my friends make fun of me for it. Anyways, I just want it gone, so I was wondering what the cons of get it "lasered" off would be. Does it leave a scar? Would it make my face look worse? Please help, even though this may seem stupid, it is a big issue for me. Thank You.
