Are CULTURED PEARLS taken from oysters raised in captivity and then slaughtered??? I really want a .........

I have some really, really bad news for you. Those oysters that are taken from the sea are alive. Their pearls are taken by force. They are killed and (can you believe it) eaten. I just feel terrible to have to tell this to you. Can you stand it?
