What happens in yu-gi-oh if...?

if someone has the new cathedral field card on the field and you play a field card and they remove a counter to prevent it from being destroyed then is my field destroyed? its just like if someone has a field cad and they play magic reflector which puts a counter on a face up spell card and when it would be destroyed the counter is destroyed instead the spell card what happens? also with spell reflector if you use it on swords of reveling light what happens after the 3 turns?
