Should Money be spent on space exploration rather than help 3rd world countries?

Space exploration gets 1/16 of 1 percent of the U.S, budget which is way too little money and is not going to solve any of the worlds 3rd world problems. If you want to shift money to help people, stop spending so much money on things to destroy ourselves. Our military spends almost 700 billion dollars a year on humanities destruction. That's sick for a species who contends they're not animals.
