God Of War 2.. WHY cant i use the golden fleece?

ok.. i dont think i have The Golden Fleece because Ive been trying to do it on the Medusa's door (The Temple of Euryale) and it doesn't work .. idk if i forgot to do something in the past games or im doing it wrong.... can anyone help me pleaseeee! :(...
