Don't want to have children. Can I stop periods and menopause?

I don't want kids either and I've wondered the same thing. It's annoying and pointless to have periods if your uterus is never going to be used for anything! I think getting your tubes tied would do the trick, but that's drastic and you'd have to be 100% sure you'd never change your mind (it's reversible but you may not be fertile afterwards).
